COSTA VINEYARDS PINOT NOIR
A GREAT WINE
At Costa Vineyards we make only Pinot Noir, no distractions, no compromises. Great wine can only come from great fruit. Costa Vineyards has taken a great vineyard location and developed it in such a way to ensure the highest possible quality year after year. Costa Vineyards is truly the local wine of Coastal Mendocino County.
Currently Costa Vineyards distributes Costa Vineyards Pinot Noir in California and is available at many fine restaurants and retail stores on the Mendocino coast. Costa Vineyards Pinot Noir is a one hundred percent estate bottled single vineyard wine. Vineyards are living things and so is wine. Each year seasonal variations during the growing year create subtle differences in our wine, but our signature flavor remains the same.
Costa Vineyards Pinot Noir is handcrafted the same way great wines have been made for centuries. We cold soak the crushed grapes for several days before fermentation and punch down the cap by hand six times a day. When fermentation is complete Costa Vineyards Pinot Noir is aged for 12 to 18 months in French oak barrels.
Comptche, in Mendocino County, is a new wine-growing region in California. We planted our vineyard in 1998 and our first crush was in 2002. At this time our 2002 and 2003 vintages are sold out. Costa Vineyards is currently selling our 2004 vintage, and our 2005 vintage will be released during the summer of 2007.
